Sunflower Day Nursery at Courtenay Park, 10 minutes from Newton Abbot town centre, is a Grade II Listed Georgian building. The nursery is situated opposite the beautiful grounds of Courtenay Park, railway station and is close to local schools. It has been extensively converted specifically to provide a stimulating, warm and attractive environment and is furnished specifically to meet the needs of pre-school children. Room arrangements are appropriate to the children’s age group and both the furniture and equipment are child sized.

It has been a trying year for everyone across the country. Over a third (35%) of local authorities in England reported a rise in the number of providers in their area permanently closing their doors in the last year. We are thankful that we have managed to not be part of that and that our doors remain open. With the new financial year upon us, we have considered at length the affordability, sustainability and sufficiency of our childcare provision. In order to continue to provide quality childcare and education to children from birth to five years, due to the increase in wages, pensions and running costs of the nursery alongside the government contribution for funded childcare remaining unchanged we are in a position where price increases are sadly unavoidable.
We are really proud that we have managed to fulfil a moral duty and have accommodated our families as and when they have needed to chop and change their childcare arrangements throughout each of the lockdowns. Following this letter, however, as we come out of the other side we must reinstate that any changes to decrease childcare sessions will require four weeks’ notice as is the case for choosing to remove your child from Sunflower Day nursery.
Despite the fee increase, we are really pleased that we have been able to keep our fees as inclusive of all meals and our full-day sessions pricing very similar to other local settings that charge a very similar fee for an 8-hour day as opposed to our 10-hour day.
Please contact the nursery directly for the fees & more information.
